The Skills and Evidence Scanner reads any career text — a resume, cover letter, or draft — and surfaces two things: the professional skills it recognizes and the sentences where you quantify your impact.
What it does
Paste any text and the scanner runs it against a built-in dictionary of professional skills and a pattern matcher for quantified claims. It returns skills grouped by category with confidence levels, plus every sentence that contains a number tied to a result. It is a quick way to audit whether your documents show the skills and proof employers look for.
How to use it
- Navigate to the Skills and Evidence Scanner.
- Paste your text — resume, cover letter, performance review, or any career document.
- Click Scan text.
- Review the results: recognized skills by category, and quantified impact sentences with their counts.
The scan runs entirely in your browser. No text leaves your machine.
What the report shows
- Skills by category — recognized skills organized into groups (technical, soft skills, tools, domain knowledge, etc.), each with a confidence indicator showing how strongly the text supports that skill.
- Quantified impact sentences — every sentence the scanner identifies as containing a measurable result (revenue, percentage, team size, time saved, etc.), along with a count of how many quantified claims your document contains.
The report is designed to help you decide what to add, rewrite, or emphasize — not to judge the quality of your work.
Privacy
All processing happens locally in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored. When you close the page, the data is gone.
Limitations
Skill recognition is dictionary-bound. The scanner uses a fixed list of known professional skills. If a skill falls outside that list — a niche tool, an emerging technology, or a company-internal term — it will not be detected. The scanner does not predict hiring outcomes or assess whether your skills are competitive for a specific role.
