The dashboard is the home base for your job search. Everything you create — resumes, cover letters, business cards, applications, achievements — can be reached from the sidebar.
Sidebar navigation
The sidebar groups the workspace into clear areas:
| Group | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | The overview page |
| Build | CV Builder, Cover Letters, Business Cards, Career Vault |
| Track | Job Tracker |
| Prepare | Interview Prep |
| Support | Docs |
| Settings | Data and Settings |
The sidebar collapses to icons on desktop for more space. On mobile it becomes a slide-out menu, and a persistent bottom tab bar keeps your most-used destinations — Dashboard, CV Builder, Job Tracker, Career Vault, and Interview Prep — one tap away. Use the slide-out menu (hamburger) for everything else: Account, and Docs.
Career target
Your dashboard adapts to a career target (e.g. remote-first, career change, first job, relocation abroad, dual system). When you first open the dashboard, a welcome modal — or the hero's target picker — invites you to set one. Your target shapes the dashboard: it reorders the guided steps, surfaces target-specific advice, and highlights the features that matter most for your path. You can change your target any time from the hero band or from the target picker in the welcome view.
Dashboard overview
The overview page shows two experiences:
-
Welcome (new users, or before you set a target): a hero with key benefits, the Career target picker, how Talent & Story works, and feature cards.
-
Command center (once you're active): an action-first layout, ordered from what to do next down to supporting detail:
- Hero + next step — a progress ring, your target's status, and a highlighted Up next card with the single most useful action (e.g. continue your CV). Selecting the target picker lets you switch your career target at any time.
- Your path — a guided checklist of steps (set your target, create a CV, write a cover letter, build your Career Vault, track applications, prepare for interviews). Each step shows its status and the next step is highlighted. On mobile the first 3 steps are shown with a Show all steps toggle.
- KPIs — six key metrics (resumes, cover letters, applications, interview prep, vault, conversion) in a readable grid.
- Activity — your application pipeline (per-stage counts, conversion, upcoming interviews, stale items), reminders, Career Vault insights (proof coverage, most-reused achievements, unused inventory), and widgets specific to your target.
- Job sources + quick actions — a where-to-search band for your target, a Quick actions card (resume, application, cover letter, practice) and a Tips for your path panel with advice tailored to your career target.
Some actions are limited on the Free plan (e.g. Career Vault achievements, active applications). Limits are enforced server-side and shown in the UI; you can review your plan under Account → Billing or on the Pricing page.

Getting back to the Talent & Story home page
The Talent & Story wordmark at the top of the sidebar links back to the marketing home page. From there, the Dashboard button in the header returns you to the app.
Tip
Press the wordmark or use the Dashboard item in the sidebar (or the bottom tab bar on mobile) to reset your context any time you feel lost — every feature is one tap away.
