These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and the operator of Talent & Story ("Talent & Story", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of our website, application, public tools, blog, documentation, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing to a paid plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Agreement and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. If you use the Service for a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
The Service
Talent & Story is a career workspace that helps you organise your professional information and generate resumes, cover letters, business cards, application kits, interview preparation, and related documents. Some features are free and some require a paid Pro plan. The features and limits of each plan are shown on our pricing page, in the app, and at checkout.
Our analysis and writing tools provide informational suggestions. They do not guarantee any hiring, interview, salary, or employment outcome, and they are not legal, immigration, tax, accounting, or career advice.
Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. You can reset your password from the sign-in page and sign out of all devices from your account settings.
We may suspend or restrict an account if we reasonably believe it is compromised, being used unlawfully, or creating a security risk.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. You will not:
- use the Service for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- upload or transmit content you do not have the right to use;
- infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
- access another user's account or data, or bypass our security or access controls;
- scrape, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as permitted by law;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly permits it;
- upload malware or use the Service to send spam or abuse our contact channels; or
- use the Service in a way that harms other users, our providers, or the Service.
Your content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you create, including your resumes, cover letters, business cards, achievements, stories, applications, and notes. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, display, and format-convert that content solely to provide, secure, and support the Service. This includes allowing our service providers to process it on our behalf and generating the exports you request.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and use your content, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or violate the law. If you include information about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.
You should review every generated document before submitting it to an employer, recruiter, or other third party. The Service is not a backup service; keep your own copies of important documents.
The Service, including its software, design, templates, and text (other than your content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the documents you generate for your own personal or professional purposes, but you may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service or its templates.
Plans, billing, cancellation, and refunds
Current prices, billing intervals, currencies, and plan features are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Prices include applicable taxes where required; the total shown at checkout is the final amount charged, unless your bank or payment provider applies a fee we do not control.
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price then in effect, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with the clear, one-click Cancel subscription control in the Manage billing / Stripe customer portal in your account settings. Cancellation stops all future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid, and the subscription will not renew. We do not provide prorated refunds for unused time.
All payments are final and non-refundable. We do not offer refunds. If mandatory law gives you a refund right that cannot be waived, we will honour it.
We may change prices with reasonable advance notice, and you can cancel before a new price applies. Promotions and founder offers apply only on the terms shown on the pricing page and at checkout. If a payment fails and remains unpaid after reasonable retries, we may suspend or downgrade paid features.
Third-party services
Some parts of the Service rely on third parties, such as hosting, authentication, database and storage, payment processing, analytics, email delivery, and contact-form delivery. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their parts of the Service. We do not control third-party websites or services linked from the Service.
Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance, security, or provider outages.
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for checking the accuracy and suitability of every document you generate.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, opportunities, goodwill, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels future billing and deactivates your access as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully or in a way that creates a security or legal risk, fail to pay, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Talent & Story is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove mandatory consumer protections under the law of your country of residence. If you have a complaint, please contact us first through our contact form.
We may update these Terms as the Service or the law changes. The "last updated" date shows when they were revised. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email where appropriate. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and cancel any paid subscription before the change takes effect.
Legal information and contact

We do not publish a separate company name, postal address, or individual contact details. All legal notices and questions about these Terms must be sent through our contact form; for legal notices, select General question and mark your message as a legal notice.
Nothing in this section affects your mandatory consumer rights or your right to contact a supervisory or consumer-protection authority.
